If its Tuesday it must be....
TUESDAY! Now... wasn't that just too pithy??!? Finally almost over that darn cold - - at least the amount of time spent hacking like a three pack a day smoker has been severely reduced. The streets are hot, the customers are not (okay - so they ARE hot - but in an uncomfy and very NOT happy way.) But - at least we are airconditioned, and comfy, and cool.
A good week, if a little too quiet for my tastes, we just got a shipment of new cards, some of the more favorite figurines, some croaking frogs and rainsticks for the folks who like noisy things, and more tarot decks (we were looking a bit on the thin side there.) Now... if I can get a couple of readings in, and we can have more happy faces coming and going it would be like the whipped cream on a bowl of ice cream!
Exciting news - apparently they ARE going to start a Sunday Farmer's Market in downtown Leesburg, in the alley street between the parking garage and the King Street stores. Hooray!!! May this bring LOTS of folks downtown each Sunday! This means that during the day you have the farmer's market and all the lovely shops, then each Sunday evening you have the Bluemont Concert series that takes place at the courthouse, just up the street! An excellent formulae for rejuvenating a very charming historic district that really doesn't deserve to dry up and blow away because of nearby malls and Big Box Department stores (whom shall remain nameless). Go there for your daily needs - but if you really want a different type of shopping experience, come to our little district and enjoy a quieter, more friendly kind of atmosphere.
